As college football enters a new era, Alabama is at the forefront of the changes. Kalen DeBoer takes over as head coach of the program after 17 historic years under Nick Saban.

It all begins against Western Kentucky.

The programs have faced off three times – 2008, 2012 and 2016 – each resulting in an easy win for the Tide. They'll be glad to have that history as they host the Hilltoppers in Week 1.

While WKU hasn't beaten a Power 5 school in recent years, the program has still found success in its own way. Its won three straight bowl games, making that four postseason victories in five years of Tyson Helton at the helm. Still, the Hilltoppers will need to be excellent in Tuscaloosa.
