The long-awaited meeting between two of college football's biggest programs is finally here.

Nick Saban and No. 1 Alabama will head on the road in a true nonconference road game to take on Texas and second-year coach — and former Crimson Tide offensive coordinator — Steve Sarkisian. This will be his and Saban's first meeting since the former left Tuscaloosa following the 2020 season to coach the Longhorns.

This game will be a true litmus test for Texas, which is seeking a return to glory it has not enjoyed since the 2000s. Indeed, the last time the Longhorns truly competed for a national title was the 2009 season in which they and the Crimson Tide met for the BCS national championship.

Saban and Co. beat then-coach Mack Brown 37-21, setting the table for a dynastic run at Alabama. Texas is on its third coach since moving on from Brown in 2013, and has one double-digit victory season since that fateful 2009 campaign (10-4 under Tom Herman in 2018).

There's more to this game than just history of course (Texas fans will happily point out their team has a 1-7-1 record all time vs. Alabama.) It will also pit former No. 1 overall recruit Quinn Ewers against a vaunted Crimson Tide defense that has two fearsome pass-rushers in Will Anderson Jr. and Dallas Turner.

There's also the quarterback duel between Ewers and Bryce Young, the defending Heisman Trophy winner and likely top-three pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. How those two play on Saturday could be a talking point well into the future.

With that, The Sporting News breaks down where and how to watch the big game:
