The great-grandson of legendary Alabama football coach Paul "Bear" Bryant has committed to play at Alabama.

Paul Tyson, rated as the nation's No. 7 pro-style quarterback according to 247Sports' Composite rankings, announced his commitment on Thursday via his personal Twitter account.

Tyson, a four-star quarterback from Hewitt-Trussville, Ala., is part of the 2019 recruiting class. He plans to play his senior season before enrolling early at Alabama in January 2019.

Listed at 6-4, 217 pounds, Tyson for 3,392 yards and 36 touchdowns to just four interceptions last season as the quarterback for a Hewitt-Trussville team that went undefeated in the regular season and made it to the second round of the Class 7A playoffs.

In an interview with AL.com earlier this week, Tyson said what he's looking for "is a place where I'm a good fit and I can help win a national championship." Alabama seems to have fit those criteria for Tyson, whose relation to Bryant is well documented.

Bryant, of course, is known as one of the best coaches in college football history and holds the record (shared by current Tide coach Nick Saban) for most AP/UPI national titles (six). Bryant spent 25 years as the coach at Alabama from 1958-82, retiring as the winningest coach in college football history, with 323 wins.
