Alabama has the chance to take it home against Kentucky.
With a win against the Wildcats, the Tide will clinch the SEC west and a trip to the championship game. They won it all in 2021, beating Georgia (before losing to the Dawgs in the national championship), but fell just short last season after two conference losses.
It'll be no surprise for them to advance to the title game, yet it feels like it. They suffered an early loss to Texas and struggled to solidify a quarterback. The last two weeks, though, have been a different story. Alabama handled Tennessee 34-20 in a revenge game before taking its bye week. It returned against LSU, the second loss from last season, putting on a show for a 42-28 win. Jalen Milroe made a statement, rushing in for four of Bama's six touchdowns. He looked like the quarterback that No. 9 Alabama needs for a chance at the College Football Playoffs.
Kentucky has had just about the exact opposite season. After winning five-straight, it stumbled against Georgia to begin a three-game losing streak. The Wildcats qualified for a bowl game with a win over Mississippi State last week.
A win over Alabama isn't completely out of the picture. After all, the Cats have home-field advantage and Ray Davis on their side, the SEC's second-leading rusher with 903 yards and nine touchdowns. But Devin Leary will need all the help he can get. He was sidelined last weekend after taking a hit that caused a minor shoulder and eye injury, but he's been cleared for takeoff against the Tide.
