Paul Finebaum is known for his openly harsh critiques of coaches and radical opinions. It seems that Finebaum's next target is Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer.
While Alabama barely managed to escape another cursing loss by 25-27, the flaws in their performance didn't go unnoticed.
Regardless of the nearly flawless execution that Alabama displayed in their first four games, Finebaum did not hold back when criticizing Coach DeBoer even though he openly praised them after the Georgia win.
"He literally is turning Alabama fans off," Finebaum said on the Matt Barrie Show. "I’m just saying if you’re looking at Kalen DeBoer as a stock price, before the season it’s sky high, it shoots. Literally, they had to stop trading on Kalen DeBoer, to go Wall Street on you, at midnight two weeks ago. Now, it’s like on the penny stocks market."
The Crimson Tide has struggled output wise and suffered a humbling loss against Vanderbilt. Score-wise, Bama still stands at 5-1, with a solid chance of making it to the playoff if they improve.
Here is what Kalen DeBoer needs to fix
Alabama's game against Vanderbilt showed many gaping loopholes in the Bama team. They averaged 2.7 yards per rush against the Gamecocks, an unbelievable number for an offense that has been ranked No.1 in the country.
QB Jalen Milroe has hardly disappointed this season, and he's probably the most formidable on the offensive side but the rest of the offense needs some upscaling to restore their former glory.
Even the defense, for that matter, has been brutally bullied by third-and-fourth-down conversions and the secondary passing big plays, some of which were apparent in their last three games.
Fixing all this won't happen overnight for DeBoer, but any more losses and Bama would lose its former reputation. The rest of the season will be a truly precarious trajectory for DeBoer.
