College basketball fans won't have to wait long to see a ranked matchup this season. The battle between USC and Ohio State will be a can't-miss game on a busy Monday.
The Buckeyes will start the year as the No. 7 team in the AP women's college basketball poll. Ohio State will be leaning on returning forward Cotie McMahon, who averaged 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game last season on her way to Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors.
And if you ask McMahon, that ranking is too low.

"We're not the team to play with this year," McMahon said (via The Columbus Dispatch). "I don't know if y'all saw, but ranked No. 7 is kind of crazy to us. But, you know, we come out here and [want to] prove we're better than those six teams in front of us."
McMahon and her teammates will have their hands full with USC freshman guard JuJu Watkins. The 2022-23 Gatorade National Girls Basketball Player of the Year is expected to make an instant impact for the Trojans after excelling at Sierra Canyon.
