UConn clinched the No. 1 seed in the Big East tournament, but the Huskies clash with Marquette still matters in the conference standings.

A win for the Golden Eagles can help lock down the No. 2 seed for Marquette. It would also avenge the 28-point loss the Huskies handed them on Feb. 17.

Four UConn plays scored double-figures in that game, led by center Donovan Clingan who scored 17 points and added 10 rebounds. Kames led Marquette with 15 points in that contest.

UConn has won its past two games since being taken down by Creighton on Feb. 20. The Huskies had their 14 previous matchups before the upset conference loss.

Marquette lost to Creighton in its most recent game on Mar. 2. The Golden Eagles had won its three previous games following the loss to the Huskies in mid-February.

The outcome of this matchup could not only affect the Big East tournament seeding – for Marquette, anyway – but also the NCAA tournament resume for either school. UConn is looking at a No. 1 seed – and possibly the No. 1 overall seed – while Marquette could soar as high as a No. 2 seed.
