The eighth-ranked UConn women's basketball team will try to extend its winning streak to 13 games when the Huskies travel to Marquette on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

UConn is coming off an 88-51 victory over DePaul, which earned coach Geno Auriemma his 1,196th victory as he looks to become the winningest coach in college basketball history.

Huskies freshman Ashlynn Shade finished with 21 points, Paige Bueckers added 20 and Aaliyah Edwards scored 18. Bueckers has scored 20 or more points in 11 games this season.

Nika Mühl had six points, four rebounds and seven assists to move up to No. 8 on UConn’s all-time career assist list with 550. Former Husky All-American Bria Hartley is No. 7 with 559.

Marquette (15-3) lost to Villanova 66-63 last Wednesday at Finneran Pavilion. Mackenzie Hare led the Golden Eagles with 21 points, while Liza Karlen added 16 points. Hare also made her 100th 3-pointer of her career.

Jordan King finished with 13 points and moved into ninth on the all-time scoring list, passing Lisa Oldenburg (1996-2000) with 1,660 career points. King is the active career scoring leader in the Big East.

Rose Nkumu had six assists, her eighth game of the season with five or more assists.
