The five-star shooting guard verbally committed to Michigan on Monday. Battle held scholarship offers from Syracuse, Louisville, Duke and Arizona, among others. The commitment comes after Battle's official visit May 7.

“I really love the basketball situation and coach Beilein and the rest of the staff," Battle told Evan Daniels of Scout.com. "They are amazing coached. You can see how they develop their players like Caris, Nik Stauskas and Tim Hardaway. That’s a big deal to me.”

The Edison, N.J. native is rated the No. 12 player in the nation by 247 Sports. He joins Jon Teske and Austin Davis in Michigan’s class of 2016.
