Former UCLA star basketball player and Sacramento King Tyler Honeycutt was found dead after a standoff with police, according to multiple reports, including the Los Angeles Police Department.

According to LAPD, a male suspect in his 20s, later identified as Honeycutt, was involved in an "Officer-involved shooting" at Riverside Drive and Tyrone Avenue in Sherman Oaks, Calif. Police reported to Honeycutt's residence at 5 p.m. local on Friday after Honeycutt's mother called, saying her son was acting erratically. He reportedly opened fire on police, prompting return fire, before barricading himself inside.
