Trae Young's impressive freshman season has caught the attention of everyone from NBA scouts to even LeBron James, but he's been hitting a rough patch as of late.
As Young's performances have gone, so have Oklahoma's wins. The Sooners started the season with a 16-5 record, ranking as high as No. 4 in the country, but they have lost their last five games and eight of their last 10. During that stretch, Young has shot 35.0 percent from the field and 19.6 percent from 3-point range while turning the ball over 5.2 times per game.

The most recent loss came in Norman, Okla., on Saturday at the hands of Texas by a final score of 77-66. While Young put up 26 points, he had to take 21 shots to get there, and his team shot 30.8 percent from the field for the game. If you ask the freshman phenom, however, it's not the Sooners have gotten worse offensively — opponents have gotten better at defending him.
"I'm getting guarded like nobody else in the country is being guarded, scouted on like no one else in the country is," Young said (via ESPN). "It's a mystery coming out each and every game to try and figure out how a team is going to guard me and how I'm going to dictate how my team wins."
Oklahoma has five games remaining, all Big 12 matchups, to turn its season around and head into the NCAA Tournament on a high note. Young leads the country in points (29.1) and assists (9.3) per game.
