Two of the Big Ten's most animated coaches kicked off the Big Ten basketball season with some fireworks Wednesday night.
Indiana head coach Tom Crean and Nebraska head coach Tim Miles, no strangers to sideline spats, got in a verbal altercation midway through the second half of the conference opener.

The exchange came after Nebraska's Tai Webster fouled Hoosier forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea hard, to which Crean pointed at Miles and said a few words. Both coaches then met at midcourt — Miles yelling, Crean standing in silence — and Miles had to be restrained.
Crean appeared to tell Miles to "shut up," but vehemently denied that in the postgame press conference.
"I've been a head coach 20 years. I'm just gonna coach my team. That's what I do," Miles said, when asked about the incident, according to the Indianapolis Star. "We just kind of talked about the weather, tulips, flowers. ...
"I have no comment about that. It's really inconsequential to the game."
Indiana got the last word, beating Nebraska 70-65.
