For the first few minutes, all you can hear is shoes squeaking on the hardwood. Then a shot, a make, a court-storming.
Taylor University, a small NAIA school in central Indiana, kicks off finals week with its annual "Silent Night" basketball game. A packed house stays quiet until the Trojans score their 10th point. Then, a celebration for the ages.
The tradition began in 1997, but dates back to the 1980s, when students attended the game before finals week in pajamas.
Taylor improved to 18-0 in "Silent Night" games with Friday's 91-59 win over Kentucky Christian.
