No. 1 overall seed South Carolina is set to take on No. 3 NC State in the 2024 Final Four. It will be a matchup between one of the NCAA Tournament's most dominant teams and one of its most pleasant surprises.
The Wolfpack took down No. 1 Texas in the Elite Eight, 76-66, behind an impressive 27-point outing from Aziaha James. Four other NC State players ended up in double digits, and they held Longhorns star Madison Booker to 8-of-21 shooting from the field.
South Carolina beat No. 3 Oregon State, 70-58, receiving a huge boost off the bench from Ashlyn Watkins, who had eight points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and one steal in the win. The Gamecocks only had six turnovers throughout the game and caused 12 as they punched their ticket to the Final Four.
For the first time in school history, both NC State men's and women's teams have reached their respective Final Fours. The women's squad is heading to the Final Four for the first time since 1998. South Carolina is participating in its fourth straight Final Four.
