The final matchup has been set. The women's March Madness tournament has narrowed from 68 teams to two, with Kamilla Cardoso and the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks and Caitlin Clark's Iowa Hawkeyes set to face off in the National Championship on Sunday (3:00 p.m ET, ABC, ESPN+, Fubo).

With both teams chasing history, fan and betting interest alike should only continue to rise as we get closer to the opening tip of this epic national title matchup.

Dawn Staley's Gamecocks look to become the 10th undefeated team to win a women's NCAA basketball championship. Clark hopes to close out a banner season, and perhaps cement her legacy as the greatest college hoops player of all time.

Let's lay out the opening BetMGM odds for South Carolina vs. Iowa below — including moneyline, spread, and over/under total — getting you prepped for what could be the most-watched and most heavily bet game in the history of women's hoops.

South Carolina vs. Iowa: Opening odds for National Championship game

  • Moneyline: South Carolina -275 | Iowa +220
  • Spread: South Carolina -6.5 (-110) | Iowa +6.5 (-110)
  • Over/under: OVER 159.5 (-110) | UNDER 159.5 (-110)

After Iowa just barely outlasted Paige Bueckers and the UConn Huskies 71-69 in the Final Four, it comes as no surprise that the unbeaten Gamecocks opened as solid -6.5 favorites for the national title game. It's the most points oddsmakers have given the 34-4 Hawkeyes all season, which makes sense considering it will undoubtedly be the stiffest challenge of their campaign.

MORE: Early prediction on Sunday's championship matchup

South Carolina actually opened at -250 on BetMGM, but quickly shot up to -275 within the first 15 minutes the odds went live. That leads us to believe some early action has already come in on the Gamecocks. Their current -275 moneyline translates to an implied win probability of 73.3 percent.
