John Calipari fires back after NBA scout rips Skal Labissiere image

Kentucky big man Skal Labissiere scored just 2 points in Saturday's win over Louisville, the latest in a string of sub-par offensive efforts by the 6-11 freshman from Haiti.

But UK coach John Calipari says Labissiere's struggles do not justify the "personal attacks" leveled by one anonymous NBA scout. How personal did things get? Well, the scout told SNY.tv's Adam Zagoria Labissiere was "a paper tiger," "a mock draft myth" and "a fraud," among other things.

"Big Skal, no strength, no toughness, no game," the scout said. "Comes off the bench, plays 10 minutes, had 2 points, 3 rebounds, 0 for 3 from the floor. Shot an air ball on an easy hook."

The scout added: "He's not going to play anymore for Kentucky, I don't think. There's nothing he could do. The Louisville big men are mediocre at best. Truth be told, they're below mediocre. He couldn't do nothing with them. He's a fraud. The thing is going the other way fast."

Without mentioning Labissiere by name, Calipari took to Twitter Sunday to say college players "deserve better."
