After an 89-84 victory Tuesday night by Parker's Los Angeles Sparks, the former No. 1 selection reflected on her former coach in an interview with ESPN's Holly Rowe. Parker was exceptional in the win, scoring 31 points, and recording a season-high 13 rebounds.
She even wore orange shoes with the word ''rebound'' on them.

“It was difficult, but I felt a lot of strength from her and the Lady Vol family," Parker said in the postgame interview. "Obviously it was a special night today, and we all played with heavy hearts.”
Summitt meant a lot to Parker, but she also played a big role in Rowe's life as well.
Other than my Mom, Pat Summit is the most influential woman in my life. She showed us we could be tough, excellent, fun, kind & win.

Before Tuesday night's game, Parker shared a letter sent from Summitt to her.
You held true to your promises...and some. Thank you Coach for always being the perfect role model I love you. #RIP pic.twitter.com/HvA1mODwfP
