It may not be the Big Dance, but the NIT is nonetheless a college basketball staple.
This year’s tournament began with a slate of first-round games on Tuesday, March 19, an apt appetizer to the chaos of the NCAA Tournament.
Plus, the 2024 iteration of the NIT features a number of compelling teams; in addition, the tournament is experimenting with a number of rule changes, including a wider free-throw lane and a revised second-half timeout format.

NIT 2024: How to watch, stream
The 2024 NIT will air across the ESPN family of networks, with games broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN+, depending on the matchup.
The semifinals will air live on ESPN2, with the championship game set to air on ESPN.
