Announcers, calling the game, thought Melo Trimble had waited too long to start attacking Wisconsin's defense.

With the game tied at 60 and time wounding down in regulation, the Maryland sophomore took  a series of dribbles before stepping into a near 30-footer from the top of the key in the face of the Badgers' Zak Showalter to lift his team to a key Big Ten victory Saturday.

Trimble finished with a game-high 21 points on 9-for-17 shooting to go along with five assists. The victory improved the Terrapins win streak to nine and upped their overall record to 15-1.

Robert Carter put up a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Diamond Stone also added double-figure scoring with 11 off the bench.

Nigel Hayes (17), Ethan Happ (16 points, 11 rebounds) and Bronson Koening (13)led the way for Wisconsin (9-8)
