Anthony Edwards is one of the most promising young stars in the NBA. The former first overall pick in the 2020 draft has certainly lived up to the hype surrounding him. Edwards has always had a knack for expressing himself on the court, whether positively or negatively. The fifth-year guard also has a bit of a temper.

At times this season, Edwards has lost his cool, either losing focus on the game or resulting in an unnecessary technical foul. While the young superstar is capable of scoring 30 points a night for any team, he can also hurt his own team by quickly losing his temper.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been struggling lately, losing four out of their last six games. The road game against the Lakers wasn’t going their way either, as they trailed by double digits for most of the game. In the third quarter, the ball was loose on the floor when Edwards decided to dive for it.

The Minnesota star was attempting to call a timeout, but the referee didn’t grant him the call. This caused Edwards to express his frustration using colorful language. The official didn’t appreciate it, so Edwards was assessed a technical foul. This marked his second technical of the game, resulting in an ejection.

Edwards was in disbelief over the call, grinning while still holding the ball in his hands. The guard stood on the court for a while after the ejection, which could potentially lead to a fine. As he made his way off the court, Edwards threw the ball into the second row of fans.

The technical foul that led to the ejection was Edwards’ 16th of the season. Not only does this ejection mean he leads the NBA in technical fouls, but it also means he will have to sit out the next Timberwolves game. The one-game suspension is a significant blow for the struggling T-Wolves.
