It was a tale of two halves for the latest chapter in this great collegiate rivalry.
Despite being down by as much as 10 to the Tar Heels, Duke propelled themselves to a huge win for Grayson Allen's Senior Night thanks to an amazing second-half push form the Blue Devils. Nearly every single statistical category for the team saw some major form of improvement from shooting, to rebounding, to various forms of defensive execution.

Tar Heels guard Cameron Johnson was the star in the first-half with 10 points, and a pair of dunk highlights for emphasis. But he slumped in the second half with only six points and his FG% dropping quite a bit from its first-half form.
The standouts for Duke were Marvin Bagley III (unsurprisingly) and Grayson Allen (obviously). Bagley made up for his 3-point first half with an 18-point, 12-rebound second half which put him at the top of the ACC in terms of double-doubles. Grayson Allen suffered from loads of turnovers early on, but thankfully was able to make some key three-pointers to bring the house down in Cameron. In fact, it was a back-to-back sequence of a Bagley dunk and an Allen 3 that really launched the Blue Devils' big run. As the game winded down, Coach Mike Krzyzewski subbed Allen off the court so that he could receive the standing ovation he certainly deserved.

10:00 p.m.: These teams were bad in the first half but have significantly improved since halftime. Duke in particular has shot 52.2% since the half.
9:57 p.m.: This game has hit its stride with great back-and-forth scoring. Media timeout with 7:09 left in the half. Tar Heels have regained the lead, 58-57. They lead despite having almost half as many fouls called against them as Duke. Cameron Johnson has 16 points, Marvin Bagley III 17 points and 12 rebounds.

9:45 p.m.: Media timeout. The Blue Devils go on a run to bring it within 3 at one point, but the Tar Heels push back to go back up 7. UNC leads 50-43. Cameron is rocking though. They've seen a Grayson Allen three, and a Marvin Bagley dunk. They're ready to get louder. 11:09 left in the second half.
9:40 p.m.: It is worth noting that Duke's biggest halftime adjustment has been their rebounding. Slowly closing the gap the Tar Heels set in the first half. Also, they've increased their made three's total to 3.
9:35 p.m.: Timeout. Carolina leads 42-31. Once again, Duke starts off with a quick burst but it fizzles out after UNC makes a couple successive shots. 15:30 left in the 2nd half. Duke has still only made one three-point shot.
9:30 p.m.: We're back! Tar Heels started the half with the ball, but turned it over and Duke has scored to make it 35-27, UNC.
9:21 p.m.: Well this seems good for the Tar Heels.
Duke’s 0.57 points per possession in the first half were the lowest by any UNC opponent in any half this season.

If there is an alley-oop, the tip sheet says you must “Lean back and yell ‘Oh.’ Point to the baby being held up on the right side of the court. Yell ‘Baby.’” Is this supposed to be fun?

Life at a Duke basketball game: https://t.co/EhbrQv9LKc
Halftime: North Carolina 35, Duke 25
9:13 p.m.: Duke's free throw shooting has dropped to 4/14 or 28.6 percent. Just 1/10 from 3. Grayson Allen has all but one of Duke's turnovers. North Carolina's splits are 38% FG, 29% 3P, 100% FT. Carolina leads 35-25 and ended the half on an 11-2 run. Cameron Johnson still leads all scorers with 10 points. Grayson Allen has 7 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals.
9:09 p.m.: You really have to respect players facing Duke for not losing their cool in this situation.

9:06 p.m.: Timeout from Duke. North Carolina leads 30-23 with 1:37 left in the first half.
9:00 p.m.: The Tar Heels have taken the lead thanks to a couple of successive sets resulting in 3's. They lead 28-23 with 3:56 left in the half. Cameron Johnson leads all scorers with 10 points.
8:57 p.m.: So as of 5:40 left in the first half, Duke is 4/11 from the free throw line. More like not-free throw line, folks.
8:53 p.m.: Proof that I did not make up the Grayson Allen dunk.

8:50 p.m.: Media timeout. Duke leads 18-16 with 7:44 left in the half. Grayson Allen just had the big dunk that the crowd was clearly waiting for, but both teams are shooting 33 percent from the field.
8:44 p.m.: Someone definitely left the lid on the basket last night for Duke. The 3-point shot is not falling. The brightside for the Blue Devils is that they've forced more turnovers in eight minutes of play than the Tar Heels had the last game these two teams played against one another.
8:39 p.m.: Under-12 media timeout. This game has the real makings of a championship match in that neither team is shooting 40 percent so far. It's knotted up 12-12.
8:33 p.m.: Stats!
These are the top two teams in ACC play in adjusted offensive efficiency, according to @kenpomeroy . UNC first, Duke second.
— InsideCarolina (@InsideCarolina) March 4, 2018
8:31 p.m.: The Tar Heels have gotten some good looks to fall against Duke's zone after the energy from Cameron pushed the Blue Devils to some strong scores. Roy Williams' squad shouldn't expect to make baskets all night much like Coach K shouldn't expect his players to miss the looks they've gotten.
8:28 p.m.: UNC is on a 7-0 run as we go into the first media timeout. UNC leads 7-4.
8:18 p.m.: *Heath Ledger Joker voice* and here. we. go!
8:17 p.m.: Meanwhile, in othre leagues, former Duke players are taking some serious L's.
