The No. 9 Duke men's basketball team travels to Florida State for a key ACC game on Saturday, Feb. 17.
The Blue Devils won their third straight game Monday night, running past Wake Forest, 77-69. A pair of Duke players, Kyle Filipowski (21 points) and Mark Mitchell (23 points), finished with at least 20 points for the first time since playing at Louisville on Jan. 23. The Blue Devils are now 29-3 in games where Mitchell scores at least 10 points.
In his 50th career start against an ACC opponent, senior guard Jeremy Roach contributed 12 points and a game-high five assists.
Duke has converted on at least one 3-pointer in 1,213 straight games, the second longest streak nationally.
The Blue Devils have won 25 consecutive home games against the Demon Deacons, marking the longest Duke home win streak against any opponent. The last Wake Forest victory in Durham was on Jan. 11, 1997.
Duke now plays on the road for the first time since Feb. 3, traveling to Tallahassee.
The Seminoles are an athletic team, which has kept them in the top half of the ACC standings most of the season. The challenge for Florida State is it doesn't have a consistent 3-point shooter.
Jamir Watkins has been the most consistent scorer and leads the team with 14 points per game. Darin Green Jr. has made some key baskets and averages close to 12 points per game.
Primo Spears is the third Seminole averaging double figures with 10.7 points per game.
The Seminoles will need a solid showing in the ACC Tournament for a shot at the NCAA Tournament next month. The Blue Devils will provide a stern test.
