When the Mercer Bears take on the Duke Blue Devils in the NCAA Tournament on Friday, they’ll face an elite program, a Hall of Fame coach and blue-chip players.
As if that isn’t daunting enough, the Bears also will be going against a program that uses advanced technology, perhaps more than any other team in the country, in player development.
In the video above, find out how the SportVU camera system, which tracks player movement all over the court, helps Duke create advanced stats and gather biomechanical data. The Blue Devils are one of only three college programs to use the system, which is also utilized in the NBA. And they’re the only college program to use the system at practice as well as games.
With Mike Krzyzewski leading the way, perhaps it’s no surprise Duke continues to find new ways to get better.
