Dayton extends Archie Miller's contract through 2023 image

Dayton men's basketball coach Archie Miller had his contract extended Wednesday through 2023, according to a release from the university. This gives him one extra year on his contract. This is the third straight year he has received an extension.

“Our relationship with Archie continues to recognize the exceptional achievement of our men’s basketball program under his leadership and strongly affirms our mutual commitment to long-term success,” said athletic director Neil Sullivan. “We share a common vision of graduating student-athletes, consistently competing for conference championships and advancing in the NCAA Tournament. I look forward to pursuing those goals together.”

Miller is 115-55 in five seasons at Dayton and has taken the Flyers to three straight NCAA Tournaments. Dayton lost to Syracuse 70-51 Friday in the first round of the this year's tournament. 

“I’ve said many times, I am thankful and honored to be the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Dayton,” Miller said. “We can continue to do great things here. The University, the community, and our loyal fans have given our program the opportunity to compete with the best, and I look forward to pursuing consistent success and delivering first-class results both on and off the court for everyone associated with our program."
