Caitlin Clark stats vs. Ohio State: Iowa star scores 35 in win to break Pete Maravich's scoring record image

Introducing the new NCAA career scoring leader, Caitlin Clark. The Hawkeye broke the 54-year record, previously held by Pete Maravich, in Iowa’s 93-83 win over Ohio State on Senior Day.

It took two full quarters to score the 18 points she needed, but it finally came in the final second of the first half. After a technical foul was called on Ohio State Cotie McMahon, Clark stepped up to the free throw line after and nailed her two shots to officially claim the scoring title. She finished the game with 35 points and nine assists, brining her career scoring total to 3650.

The rest of the seniors showed out for the Senior Day game. Gabbie Marshall and Kate Martin had big second halves to score 12 and 11 points each. Unfortunately for Molly Davis, it may have been her last time in an Iowa jersey. The senior went down in the second quarter with what appeared to be an ankle roll. She was carried off the court and returned to the sideline during the second half in a wheelchair with a heavily wrapped leg.

While the revenge win over the Buckeyes was all about the seniors, sophomore star Hannah Stuelke had her own standout performance with 23 points.

Now, it’s time for the postseason. Despite the loss, the Buckeyes already clinched the Big Ten regular-season title and the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament. Iowa will earn a double-bye In the tournament as a top-four seed, too.

The Sporting News tracked live scores, results, and highlights from the Iowa vs. Ohio State game as Clark continued her scoring record chase.

12:30 p.m.: We're 30 minutes away from Senior Day tipoff at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. It'll be one for the books.

12:00 p.m.: Even Tiger fans can't resist cheering for the Hawkeyes, just don't tell Angel. These custom shirts are too good.

11:35 a.m.: Just days after Clark breaks the women's collegiate scoring record, Lynette Woodard is courtside in Iowa City.

11:15 a.m.: Talk about a crossover episode. Kristin Juszczyk, who went viral for making Taylor Swift a custom Chiefs vest, ventured from NFL to college basketball for the Hawkeye's final regular season game.

10:30 a.m.: It's a packed house at Carver-Hawkeye Stadium today, as the Iowa fans are ready to see history.

10 a.m.: Caitlin Clark has continuously stated how Maya Moore was her first basketball hero. So how fitting is it that on her senior day, as well as the day where she likely makes more NCAA history as college's all-time leading scorer, she is greeted by Moore before the action.
