For the first time in a long time, the Big 12 tournament is anyone's to win after TCU's shocking upset of Kansas on Thursday.
The 2017 Big 12 Tournament, taking place at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo., hasn't been much of contest in recent years. The defending champion Jayhawks had won seven of the last 11 Big 12 men's basketball tournaments, and they looked more than ready to repeat.
Before Thursday's loss, Kansas had advanced to the tournament semifinals every year since 2009.

To put their tournament dominance in perspective, no other program in a major conference has more than four conference tournament titles over that span. Kentucky, Duke and Ohio State have four. North Carolina, UCLA and Michigan State have three.
Kansas' dominance in the Big 12 is well-known, but it reached historic levels this season. KU has locked up its 13th straight Big 12 regular-season title, which ties a record with John Wooden’s UCLA teams from the ’60s and ’70s. When Kansas' streak began, the iPhone was two years away from coming out, Kansas guard Frank Mason III was 9 years old, President George W. Bush was in office and "The Apprentice" debuted that year.

With Kansas out of the picture, Iowa State and West Virginia will duke it out for 2017 Big 12 Tournament title.
The tournament champion will receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
