LSU certainly hasn't enjoyed a smooth start to the 2023-24 college basketball season.
The defending champions lost their opening game to Colorado in shocking fashion, falling by a final score of 92-78. The Tigers responded by winning their next seven contests, but the mysterious absence of Angel Reese has overshadowed recent success.
With a top-10 battle between Virginia Tech and LSU looming large, college basketball fans have been wondering whether Reese will be available to play. What's the latest news on the star forward's status?
Here is everything you need to know about Virginia Tech at LSU, including TV and streaming options for the game.
Is Angel Reese playing for LSU tonight?
LSU coach Kim Mulkey announced on Wednesday that Reese will rejoin the rotation when the No. 7 Tigers face the No. 9 Hokies on Thursday night.
Mulkey has repeatedly declined to share details about the situation, only saying that Reese missed four games because of unspecified "locker-room issues."
"It doesn't matter. Angel is back, and we are happy, happy, happy. She's happy, happy, happy," Mulkey said. "She's available to play Thursday. ... We're past it. We were past it after it happened, really. It's just fun to watch them high-five and pick each other up off the floor and just do what they do, play basketball.
"We've been past it. It's just we have to come in here and answer questions, and that becomes aggravating."
Through four games this season, Reese is averaging 17.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. She last played in a 109-79 victory over Kent State on Nov. 14. She was benched for the second half of that contest before sitting out the next four games.
