Vermont ran away with the America East regular season title this season and looks to win a third consecutive conference championship for another automatic bid into the NCAA tournament later this month.
The Catamounts have won four of the past six tournaments (they were named winners of the 2020 season despite the tournament being cancelled) and look to claim an 11th conference title in school history.
They'll enter as the No. 1 seed, but they'll have some competition. UMass-Lowell and Bryant have two of the best offenses in the conference – UMass-Lowell averages 80.3 points per game while Bryant scores 78.8 points.
Vermont only averages 72.6 points per game but has the best defense in the America East that allows just 62.9 points and has the best assist-to-turnover margin.
New Hampshire's Clarence Daniels, UAlbany's Sebastian Thomas and UMBC's Dion Brown are the top scorers to watch in the tournament. Both average at least 19 points per game. Bryant's Sherif Gross-Bullock scores 18.1 points per game.
Look out for Vermont's T.J. Long from behind the arc. The Catamounts' sharpshooter leads the conference with a 37.5% conversation rate from 3-point range. Gross-Bullock isn't far behind, though, with a 37.1% mark from the same part of the court.
