I am proud to be announcing that next year I will be playing for Coach Hamilton and his staff at Florida State University. To all the coaches, mentors, teachers, and family members that have molded and helped me to get to this point in my journey thank you! pic.twitter.com/rMQDwXLNZf

"I am proud to be announcing that next year I will be playing for Coach Hamilton and his staff at Florida State University," Barnes tweeted. "To all the coaches, mentors, teachers, and family members that have molded and helped me to get to this point in my journey thank you!"
Rated the No. 9 prospect regardless of position in the class of 2020, per 247Sports' Composite Rankings, Barnes, a 6-8, 210-pound forward, chose the Seminoles over Miami, Kentucky, Ohio State and Oregon.
According to 247Sports, Barnes ranks as the second-highest pledge in program history behind 2016 signee Jonathan Isaac.
"They really talk to me a lot," Barnes told ESPN this weekend about Florida State. "They really show a lot of interest in me and they see something real special in me.
Barnes, who averaged 18.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists on the Nike EYBL circuit earlier this year, added he could see himself moving around on the court as he continues to develop his skills.
"At the next level, because of my IQ and vision on the floor, I really see myself in the future being a point guard," Barnes said. "But I can play multiple positions, being a versatile player."
