Fans grill NBA Draft prospect Alex Sarr for apparent Wizards preference image

It's not often NBA Draft prospects seemingly dodge a chance at being the top selection, but that is the sense surrounding Alex Sarr.

While no outright statements show that Sarr is hoping to avoid the Atlanta Hawks at No. 1, a few events are pushing the agenda of the phenom to the Washington Wizards at No. 2. The most apparent of which is Sarr declining a private workout with the Hawks after the organization made multiple efforts to do so.

Fans are struggling to make sense of the matter, clowning him with a graphic on social media.

While the Wizards did finish a single game off the league's worst record, it's not a completely dark future in Washington. Wings Bilal Coulibaly and Deni Avdija are two young players with promising upside at less than 24 years old each. The Wizards also do not have a franchise cornerstone, which could appeal to Sarr.

Meanwhile, social media's point is: why would Sarr not want to play alongside one of the NBA's top playmakers, Trae Young? The answer is quite simple, as there is no guarantee Young or his backcourt partner Dejounte Murray will be on the roster to start next season. It's important to note that Sarr shared with Yahoo Sports, "I’ll play for any team that drafts me."
