Teams across the NBA landscape are gearing up for the upcoming season as training camp approaches. With multiple contenders looking to fill open roster spots, a former first-round selection has been on their radars.
For many teams, the ability to have a two-way wing on their bench has plenty of value. For contenders, it’s almost essential, especially when the postseason comes. Fortunately for this player, he checks those boxes which has earned him several workouts ahead of the season.
Free agent wing Nassir Little has/had workouts with the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, and Sacramento Kings,” Keith Smith of Spotrac reported on Monday.
Little was drafted in the first round of the 2019 draft after an impressive freshman season at North Carolina. The forward showed defensive versatility and the ability to stretch the floor entering the draft, but he’s yet to do it consistently in the league.
Through his five-year career, Little has averaged 5.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.7 assists on 45.2% shooting from field goal range and 33% from beyond the arc. If the 24-year-old earns a roster spot with any of the teams he worked out for, he has the tools to develop into a reliable 3-and-D player.
Nonetheless, with the interest in the free agent gaining traction, he could be on a team’s roster soon.
