Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain is looking to soak in all the knowledge possible before his NBA journey begins.

McCain is a bit undersized for the shooting guard position, meaning it’s important for him to place a strong focus on the defensive end. The 19-year-old took it upon himself to reach out to former NBA All-Defensive First Team guard Patrick Beverley.

“Just wanted to reach out and ask for some advice into the NBA,” Beverley shared that McCain messaged him. “I just want to learn as much as possible before I step on the court. I’ll take anything.”

Beverley, the 6-foot-2 guard, continued by reading a list of questions asked by McCain. It’s clear the former Duke Blue Devil is dedicated to his craft, with major headlines surfacing every week of his effort and personality.

He’s not the only one making headlines in recent days, as Beverley recently announced his decision to leave the NBA for overseas.
