The Philadelphia 76ers are busy with moves Saturday morning, as they are reportedly waiving big man Paul Reed.
Reed acted as the backup to former MVP Joel Embiid last season, averaging 7.3 points and 6 rebounds on 54% shooting in 19.4 minutes last season. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on the decision, writing, "The 76ers will waive F/C Paul Reed, whose contract is non-guaranteed for next season, sources tell ESPN."

The Sixers signed established big man Andre Drummond on a two-year deal in free agency, meaning Reed doesn't leave a void in their rotation. Philadelphia's front office also brought in former Miami Heat forward Caleb Martin, who will likely spend much of his time at power forward. Many believed the general manager would search for a potential trade partner for Reed, but instead, they are letting him go ahead of the 2025 season.
