The Philadelphia 76ers were able to retain veteran guard Kyle Lowry this offseason despite interest from the Phoenix Suns.

One team that seemingly never showed interest in Lowry was the New York Knicks, or better known as the 'Villanova Knicks.' The addition of star forward Mikal Bridges brings New York's roster up to four former Wildcats, but Lowry could've been the fifth.

The 38-year-old recently took part in a golf tournament, where the announcer stated in Lowry's introduction, "He opted against joining the Villanova Knicks this year. Please welcome Kyle Lowry!"

The former Wildcats guard began chuckling, saying, "They didn't want me."

Lowry instead returns to the Sixers, where he'll look to bring home the second championship of his career. He averaged 8 points and 4.6 assists on 44.4% shooting during his time in Philadelphia last season.

With the Knicks and 76ers as some of the strongest contenders in the Eastern Conference, it's a real possibility Lowry faces off against many players from his alma mater.
