Should Team USA bench Joel Embiid in favor of Anthony Davis? image

Just two games into Team USA's Olympic campaign, and fans are already calling for major changes.

The main switch suggested by the public is benching Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid in favor of Los Angeles Lakers' Anthony Davis. People believe Embiid's style of play is not made for the national stage, as he fouled out in 12 minutes against Canada. He recorded 5 points and 6 rebounds in comparison to Davis' 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Canada's backcourt is the most praised aspect of their roster, pushing an even stronger case for Davis to get the nod as the more mobile of the two.

Coach Steve Kerr once again opted to bring the Lakers big man off the bench in Monday's exhibition against Australia. Kerr started Embiid, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Anthony Edwards, and Jayson Tatum. Despite not cracking the starting five, Davis shined with 17 points and 14 rebounds. The former MVP did not perform as poorly Monday, finishing with 14 points and 5 rebounds while also having the lone positive +/- of the starters.

Team USA returns to action on July 17 against Serbia, potentially with a new face in Davis in the starting lineup.
