The Philadelphia 76ers need to move fast if they hope to acquire a superstar, as more teams than ever before could outbid them.
The Houston Rockets and Brooklyn Nets each made moves on Tuesday evening, propelling them in opposite directions. The Rockets acquired a plethora of draft capital to make a win-now move, while the Nets traded star Mikal Bridges in exchange for five first-round picks from the New York Knicks.
Paul George (Los Angeles Clippers) and Brandon Ingram (New Orleans Pelicans) are the two most heavily rumored targets for the Sixers, but if Houston or Brooklyn are interested, it's out of the equation. Most of Philadelphia's power comes in free agency, as they have one of the highest amounts of cap space in the league.
Ingram remains under contract, but if George desires Philadelphia as his next home, he could opt out of his player option to enter free agency. Another possible option is free agent OG Anunoby, who could decide against re-signing with the Knicks due to the acquisition of Bridges.
