NBA fans were left with limited options to watch the debut of Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George on Friday evening.
The Sixers' preseason matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves was set to stream on NBA League Pass and almost nowhere else. Well, fans weren't happy when League Pass had technical difficulties around the time of the 7:00 PM tip-off.
This included George's podcast, Podcast P with Paul George, which poked fun at the NBA's struggles to stream the game on social media.
"*watching this on repeat while the nba league pass stream is experiencing technical difficulties*," the podcast account posted on X (formerly Twitter). The clip in reference was from the 76ers' account, showing the nine-time All-Star warm up for his debut with a 360-dunk.
Many others jumped in on the trolling, complaining about the lack of ability and quality of the game.
"This is what we're going to have to deal with all night," one user posted with a video of the game.
"PAUL GEORGE WITH THE STEPBACK 3," another fan wrote with a photo of the technical difficulties message.
As for how George's debut started, he recorded 5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal on 2 of 6 shooting and 33.3% from three-point range in the first quarter.
"20 seconds into Sixers-Wolves and the League Pass stream is experiencing technical difficulties," a reporter posted. "Let's go baby!!"
