Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey spoke with the reporters for the first time since signing his extension Tuesday, but fans seemingly forgot about the purpose of the press conference.

Instead of focusing on Maxey’s answers, the public was sidetracked by his much-improved physique. He spoke on various subjects, highlighted by his expectations for next season and the arrival of star Paul George.

Maxey is gearing up to take another leap next year, likely as a playmaker. His impressive scoring jump landed him the Most Improved Player award, but the addition of George should drift his priorities.

After averaging a commendable 6.2 assists last season, it’s possible the number shoots to around 8. He recorded a career-high 25.6 points per game, a stat that could see a slight decrease due to the offensive additions. The 76ers' front office added scoring threats, including George, Caleb Martin, Jared McCain, and Eric Gordon.

Everything is shaping up for this to be the season Philadelphia walks away with the Larry O’Brien for the first time in more than four decades.
