Orlando Magic's guard Markelle Fultz has just been announced to be unlikely to return to the team. The former number one overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft has averaged 11 points and five assists in his career. Here are a few teams that should try and go after him.
Los Angeles Lakers: The Lakers have made no moves this offseason, and any attempts they have made have failed. Their current backcourt off the bench of Spencer Dinwiddie and Gabe Vincent has been poor, and Fultz could provide a breath of fresh air into their bench offense.
Atlanta Hawks: After being a middle of a pack team this last season, the Hawks lost one of their All-Star guards in Dejounte Murray, Fultz could be a key bench piece to lighten the load for Trae Young, who is all by his lonesome once again.
Dallas Mavericks: After suffering a gentleman’s sweep in the NBA Finals, The Mavericks have been trying to find the final pieces this offseason to put them over the top. After acquiring Klay Thompson from the Warriors as a starter, Fultz would be a great backup to give Luka Doncic some time to breathe.
