The Los Angeles Lakers have been dominating the media in recent days, most recently with questions surrounding the future of star Anthony Davis.
Some believe that Davis will grow frustrated with the relationship between LeBron James and new coach JJ Redick while other reports claim Redick will prioritize the big man. Analyst Colin Cowherd is siding with the frustration, as he recently proposed a deal that would send Davis to the West's top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder. In return, the Lakers would receive rising star Jalen Williams, guard Cason Wallace, and four first-round picks.
"Just think about this: what is an organization with a ton of draft capital and a bunch of good young players? The Lakers have nobody in their prime except AD and it's a late prime. The Lakers need shooters and wing defenders; think about Oklahoma City, skinny Chet Holmgren, they don't have enough girth to face a Jokic or a Karl-Anthony Towns and Gobert," Cowherd said. "They need a big, and they have a ton of draft picks and a surplus of good young players, and you're not winning championships with a bunch of good young players."

Davis would without a doubt make the Thunder championship favorites entering next season, and it's realistic that the Lakers would at least entertain such a high-value offer. With LeBron James nearing the end of his career, it's important for the front office to consider the team's future, as Davis is unable to compete for a title on his own. If they were willing to part ways with the superstar center, it would vault their future up the ranks, even though the draft picks may not come within the lottery.
