The Wizards have a need for backcourt depth, and it appears that they aren't going to waste time addressing it.

According to CSN Washington's J. Michael, Washington will sign veteran guard Will Bynum, who last played in China earlier this season.

Current Wizards guard Toure' Murry signed a second 10-day contract  with the team on Sunday, but sprained his left ankle during Washington's loss that night at Sacramento. Murry is expected to be released to make room for Bynum.

Per Michael, Bynum has been the Wizards' primary target for a while, and the team was waiting for a hamstring injury to heal before signing him.

Bynum brings an additional scoring threat to the struggling Wizards, who have lost four in a row heading into Fridays game against the Hornets. The seven-year NBA veteran played in 56 games for the Pistons last season, averaging 8.7 points in just over 18 minutes per game.
