Not all is well in the nation's capital.
While the Wizards are essentially guaranteed a playoff spot in the East, they have struggled in March, losing seven of their last 11 games. Washington's latest loss, a 101-97 defeat at the hands of the lowly Knicks on Sunday night, proved to be too much for All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal to let go.

"I'm tired of talking about this s—. It's just the same thing over and over," Beal said after the game (via NBC Sports Washington). "Until we do it individually and together collectively, we're going to get our asses kicked in the playoffs. This isn't even remotely acceptable, how we are playing right now. We're playing like we're gonna be done on April 11, April 12."

Washington has gone 15-11 during a long stretch without John Wall, who has been out since January after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee. The good news for Wizards fans? Wall did recently participate in five-on-five drills in practice, though there is no immediate timetable for his return to the lineup.
The Wizards started off strong without Wall, rattling off a five-game winning streak, but it's been a tale of two very different months for Washington.
Wizards by month | Net rating | Assist % | Effective FG % |
February | plus-2.3 | 69.5 | 54.0 |
March | minus-2.0 | 67.6 | 52.6 |
"It looks like we are waiting for John to come back and change everything," guard Tomas Satoransky said. "We're not playing like we did the first games he was missing. That's not right way to do it. We have to go and play as hard as we can every game."
And if they don't, then Beal and the rest of the Wizards can start planning those summer vacations sooner than expected.
