Silas is no stranger to the Warriors, having served as an assistant there from 2006-10 before joining Charlotte. The Warriors are now eyeing Silas as a replacement for top assistant coach Luke Walton, who was hired earlier this month to coach the Lakers.
But the Warriors knew they would have to move fast, given the interest the Rockets have shown in Silas, the son of former NBA star and coach Paul Silas.

However, the Houston Chronicle has reported that 76ers associate coach Mike D'Antoni is the lead candidate for the Rockets, so Golden State has a chance to bring Silas back to California. While there in his first stint, he developed a close relationship with Stephen Curry.
