Warriors vs. Trail Blazers results: Golden State on brink of sweep after comeback Game 3 win image

The Warriors won Game 2 of the Western Conference finals by rallying from a 15-point halftime deficit. In Game 3, it was deja vu — well, almost.

Golden State came back from being down 13 points this time, relying on a third-quarter comeback (surprise!) to win 110-99 and give itself a 3-0 series lead.

Stellar third-quarter defense saved the day for the Warriors. They held the Trail Blazers to just 13 points over the 12 minutes to take the lead. They kept the lead by outscoring their opponent by eight points in a less-than-thrilling final quarter.

The trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green carried the Warriors to the victory. Green recorded a triple-double before the end of the third quarter; Curry (game-high 36) and Thompson (19) combined for 55 points.

Portland needed a big performance from Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, and neither really delivered. McCollum led the Blazers with 23 points but he went just 2 of 10 from 3-point range and missed five free throws. Lillard was 5 of 18 from the field and finished with 19 points.

Meyers Leonard was an unlikely hero for Portland on Saturday, at least for the first half. He scored 16 points after receiving the last-minute start over Enes Kanter. Leonard had not scored more than nine points in any other game this postseason.

The Warriors will have a chance to clinch their spot in the NBA Finals on Monday with a win in Game 4.
