Warriors vs. Celtics: Score, results, highlights from Boston's comeback win image

The game was over when the Warriors went ahead by 10 in the first quarter. Then the game was over when the Warriors led by 17 in the third quarter.

We probably should have learned by now — the game is never over when these Celtics are involved.

Boston clawed its way to a 92-88 victory Thursday night at TD Garden, extending its winning streak to 14 games and snapping a string of seven straight wins for Golden State. Both teams shot poorly, but the Celtics doubled the Warriors at the free throw line (38 attempts to 19) and limited Golden State to 60 points in the final three quarters.

Warriors vs. Celtics: Score, highlights, updates

Final score: Celtics 92, Warriors 88

10:47 p.m. ET — CELTICS WIN! Boston has now won 14 games in a row, its longest winning streak since the 2010-11 season. All five Celtics starters finish with at least 12 points, and Brown leads the way with 22 points. Despite a poor shooting night, the Celtics went 33 of 38 from the free throw line compared to 12 of 19 for the Warriors.

Durant had a game-high 24 points, but the "Splash Brothers" went a combined 8 of 32 from the field and 5 of 20 on 3-pointers. Boston moves to 14-2 while Golden State drops to 11-4.

It wasn't pretty, but that was a lot of fun.

10:40 p.m. ET — Durant receives the pass from the sideline, shoots from the short corner and... no good! The Celtics grab the rebound and kill some clock before Curry fouls Jayson Tatum. The rookie makes both free throws to put the Celtics ahead, 92-88. Only 6.7 seconds left.

10:37 p.m. ET — Irving drives and misses — but draws the foul! He hits two huge free throws. Celtics 90, Warriors 88. Golden State will have an opportunity to tie or win the game with only 14 seconds remaining.

10:34 p.m. ET — EVERYONE REMAIN CALM. All tied up at 88. Celtics use their final timeout with 20.2 seconds on the clock. What will Brad Stevens draw up?

10:29 p.m. ET — These guys are trading shots now. Big buckets by Al Horford, Durant and Irving on back-to-back-to-back possessions. This one is going down to the wire. Irving has seven quick points in two minutes. Look out.

Celtics 86, Warriors 85 with less than two minutes to go.

10:20 p.m. ET — It's been a real grind in the fourth. The Warriors are ahead in the quarter, 13-9, with a big 3-pointer by Curry pushing Golden State's lead to four points. Warriors 81, Celtics 77 with 4:39 left.

End of third quarter: Warriors 68, Celtics 68

10:03 p.m. ET — The Celtics at one point took their first lead since 6-4 in the first quarter behind the incredible play of Brown. He has a game-high 22 points through three quarters. Boston still can't find a rhythm offensively, but the guys in green have been tough on defense as usual and doubled Golden State in free throw attempts.

The Warriors must get something out of Curry in the fourth. He's 1 of 9 from the field for four points with six rebounds, four assists, four turnovers and four fouls. Perhaps coach Steve Kerr will look to get a little bit more off-ball movement to free him up for open looks.

9:50 p.m. ET — Brown is keeping things interesting. The second-year man out of Cal hits a jumper and a 3-pointer in transition to shrink Golden State's advantage. Warriors 66, Celtics 56 with 3:46 remaining in the third quarter.

9:43 p.m. ET — And there it is. The Warriors jump out to a 15-point lead courtesy of a 15-5 run to start the third. The Celtics are still struggling offensively, but Kyrie Irving has taken the mask off, so maybe he's preparing a serious response.

9:30 p.m. ET — The third quarter is underway. The Warriors have the best net rating in the third quarter by far this season (28.2). This is typically when Golden State pulls away, so we'll see if Boston can push back against the trend.

Halftime: Warriors 47, Celtics 42

9:18 p.m. ET — After failing to shoot a free throw in the first quarter, the Celtics go 12 of 13 from the charity stripe and close the second on a 15-3 run. Brown hasn't shot the ball well (4 of 12 from the field), but he's playing aggressively on both ends and energizing the TD Garden crowd.

Brown leads the Celtics with 11 points, five rebounds and two blocks. Durant has 12 points, but the Warriors' starting five looks out of sync. The starters have shot 10 of 33 from the field nine assists to six turnovers. The bench is picking up the slack with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting.

9:00 p.m. ET — It's been all Warriors so far. Every Golden State player who has entered the game has a positive plus-minus. The Warriors are ahead, 45-31, with less than four minutes to go in the first half.

8:53 p.m. ET — Andre Iguodala with the kindest posterization of all time...

And a very mean posterization:

End of first quarter: Warriors 28, Celtics 18

8:40 p.m. ET — The Warriors jump out to an early lead as Nick Young closes the first frame with a flurry, scoring seven points. The Celtics struggle from the field, shooting 2 of 10 from 3-point range and 8 of 25 overall.

8:34 p.m. ET — Jaylen Brown does not care about your championship rings!

8:23 p.m. ET — Weird stat alert: Klay Thompson just made his first unassisted 3-pointer of the season. Prior to Thursday night's game, Thompson hit 51 assisted 3-pointers. The Warriors lead 9-6 at the first timeout.

8:16 p.m. ET — Wait, what's going on with Stephen Curry's hair here?

7:56 p.m. ET — Breaking news: Kevin Durant is tall and good at basketball.
