He was forced to miss the first 43 games of the season due to complications from back surgery, but interim coach Luke Walton guided the Warriors to a 39-4 record under Kerr's guidance.
Finishing the regular season with a 73-9 record, Kerr and the Warriors surpassed the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls' 72-10 win record. They also won the first 24 games of the season, pushing their win streak from the previous season to 28 games. It's the second-longest win streak of all time.
Kerr will be presented with the Red Auerbach Trophy during Game 5 of the Warriors' playoff series against the Rockets on Wednesday night.
