Warriors vs. Raptors results: Pascal Siakam powers Toronto to NBA Finals Game 1 win image

The Raptors' postseason hot streak continued Thursday night as they took Game 1 of the 2019 NBA Finals over the Warriors 118-109.

Pascal Siakam was a standout for the Raptors, scoring 32-points on 14-of-17 shooting. Siakam started the game 2 for 4 from the floor, then hit his next 11 shots before finally missing with 55 seconds remaining in the game. 

Siakam, Kawhi Leonard and Marc Gasol combined for 75 of Toronto's 118 points. Four of the Raptors' five starters scored in double figures. Fred VanVleet proved to be a reliable option off the bench, pouring in 15 points.

The Raptors have now won five consecutive games dating to the Eastern Conference finals. It was also the franchise's first win in an NBA Finals game.

Stephen Curry led Golden State with 34 points and also dished out five assists. Klay Thompson struggled in the first half, shooting just 4 for 11, but bounced back in the second half before finishing with 21 points. 

DeMarcus Cousins logged eight minutes in his first appearance since injuring his quad in Game 2 of the Warriors' first-round series against the Clippers. Kevin Durant (calf strain) did not play for a fifth straight game.

Toronto will look to capitalize on this performance and take a 2-0 series lead Sunday night in Game 2.

FINAL: Raptors 118, Warriors 109

11:35 p.m. Siakam gets a tip in and then Golden State turns it over on the ensuing possession. Toronto's going to take this one 118-109. 

11:33 p.m.: Gasol picks up his sixth foul after bumping Curry on a 3-point attempt. Curry hits all three to cut the lead to 113-106 with 1:14 to go. 

11:32 p.m.: Leonard grabs the offensive board and is able to give Toronto a fresh shot clock. VanVleet then drives hard to the rim and is fouled. He hits both free throws and the Raptors lead 113-103 with 1:14 left. 

11:28 p.m.: Fred VanVleet beats the shot clock after it dances around the rim before falling. Just been that kind of night for the Raptors. They lead 110-100 with 2:35 to go.

11:24 p.m.: Thompson's called for an offensive foul and turns it over. He then get called for a technical after talking with the official. Leonard hits the technical free throw and the Raptors' lead balloons to 106-94 with 4:42 to go.

11:22 p.m.: Leonard hits a 3 and Siakam follows it up with a block on the defensive end. Toronto's clicking on all cylinders right now. It leads 103-94 with 5:18 to go.

11:16 p.m.: Toronto's the first to hit the 100-point threshold tonight and the Warriors burn another timeout. Raptors lead 100-88 with 7:31 to go.

11:12 p.m.: Siakam's going off for Toronto. He's hit 11 straight shots and has 30 points on 13-of-15 shooting. The Raptors lead 96-87 with 8:25 to go.

11:07 p.m.: Four quick points from Toronto forces Golden State to burn a timeout. Raptors up 94-87 with 9:44 left. 

11:04 p.m.: A 3 from Jonas Jerebko and Cousins hitting one of two free throws cuts the Raptors' lead to just three with 10:30 left in the game.

End of third quarter: Raptors 88, Warriors 81

10:59 p.m.: We're onto the fourth and Toronto leads 88-81. Leonard scored six quick points late in that quarter to bring his total up to 18 on the night. Gasol's got 16 as well for Toronto. 

10:56 p.m.: Golden State's slowly but surely clawing its way back into this. They cut the Raptors lead to 83-81 with 1:11 left in the third after an Alfonzo McKinnie 3. Leonard's fouled on the ensuing possession and hits both free throws to extend the lead back to four.

10:48 p.m.: Raptors with a 79-72 lead with 3:25 left in the third. Siakam leads all scorers with 26 on 11-of-13 shooting. Curry's got 24 for the Warriors. 

10:43 p.m.: Toronto seems to have an answer for whatever Golden State throws its way. It's out in from 77-68 with 5:15 left in the third. 

10:36 p.m.: Raptors have carried that first-half momentum into the second. Currently up nine. They're also winning the turnover battle as they've committed six turnovers versus Golden State's 12. 

10:30 p.m.: Green's fouled on the Warrior's first possession of the second half and he hits both free throws to cut Toronto's lead to 59-51.

Halftime: Raptors 59, Warriors 49

10:13 p.m.: A 3 from Danny Green gives the Raptors their largest lead of the night. They head into the half up 59-49. Gasol leads all scorers with 14. Siakam's got 12 for Toronto and Curry's got 13 for Golden State. 

10:10 p.m.: Lowry draws a charge on Green with 59.9 seconds left. Green's now got three fouls and he heads to the bench. 

10:07 p.m.: Leonard goes baseline and gets the finish and Curry's called for the foul, his second. Leonard converts the three-point play and the Raptors lead 52-45 with 1:28 left in the second quarter. 

10:01 p.m.: Raptors with the 42-41 lead over the Warriors with 4:06 left until halftime. Curry's got 11 for Golden State, Gasol's got 10 for Toronto.

9:58 p.m.: A couple of free throws by Draymond Green cuts the Raptors lead to 40-38 with just under six minutes until the half. 

9:52 p.m.: Quinn Cook with a nice finish and the foul. He converts the three-point play to convert the Raptors' lead to two. 

9:49 p.m.: Toronto with a nice gesture honoring former Raptors greats at midcourt during a timeout.

9:41 p.m.: DeMarcus Cousins checks in for Golden State for the first time tonight to start the second quarter. He's seeing action for the first time since injuring his quad during Game 2 against the Clippers in the first round. 

End of first quarter: Raptors 25, Warriors 21

9:35 p.m.: Golden State's fallen behind 25-19 after a 7-1 run by Toronto. Shaun Livingston's fouled as he attempted to clean up a missed 3 by Curry. He converts both free throws and that'll do it for the first quarter. 

9:31 p.m.: Toronto back on top 22-19 with 2:41 left in the first. 

9:26 p.m.: Pascal Siakam blocks Klay Thompson, but the Warriors chase down the loose ball and kick it to Curry who hits a corner 3. Warriors back up 19-18 after a quick 8-0 run. 

9:24 p.m.: Raptors up 18-11 at the 5:31 mark of the first quarter after a pair of Marc Gasol free throws. He leads all scorers with eight. 

9:17 p.m.: At the first break in action both teams are tied at nine. Toronto's started 3 of 8 from beyond the arc and its defense has played well so far contesting nearly every shot Golden State's attempted. 

9:12 p.m.: Toronto turns it over on its first possession and then the teams trade misses until Stephen Curry's fouled. He hits both free throws and the Warriors have the first points of the game. 

9:10 p.m.: Raptors win the tip and the 2019 NBA Finals are officially underway.
