There will be a showcase of elite guards in Dallas when Stephen Curry and the Warriors take on Luka Doncic and the Mavericks.

Curry, who is averaging 27.2 points per game this season, is looking to a bounce back after scoring just nine points in the Warriors' win over the Heat on Monday. It was an uncharacteristically poor shooting performance for the two-time MVP, as he shot 3-of -7 (17.6 percent) from the field and 1-of-10 (10.0 percent) from 3-point range.

The only time Curry was limited to just one triple this season (Nov. 21), he bounced back to knock down six 3s in his next outing. If history repeats itself, the Mavs could be in for a long night.

Wednesday also marks Doncic's third game back in action after missing the previous 10 games due to injury and being placed in the league's COVID health and safety protocols. In his last outing, Doncic led the Mavericks to a 14-point win over the Nuggets with 21 points, 15 assists and eight rebounds.

Winners of three straight, the Mavs look to continue to build momentum after plenty of ups and downs to start the season. If there was a need for any extra motivation, the greatest Maverick of all time will be in attendance, as Dirk Nowitzki will see his No. 41 raised into the rafters of the American Airlines Center in a postgame ceremony.

Can Dallas honor the legend with a win?
