Warriors vs. Mavericks score, results: Golden State uses second-half rally to defeat Dallas in Game 2, take 2-0 series lead image

The Mavericks took a 14-point lead into the locker room at halftime on Friday night, one they built largely with their 3-point shooting. Dallas made 15 triples through the first 24 minutes of Game 2 against Golden State and looked as though it may be able to steal one on the road.

Then, the second half started. The Warriors outscored the Mavs 68-45 over the final two frames on their way to a 126-117 win. Six different Golden State players hit double-figures in the scoring department, including Kevon Looney, who scored more than 20 points for the first time in his career (21 points, 12 rebounds, 10-of-14 shooting).

Dallas star Luka Doncic bounced back after a poor performance in Game 1, totaling 42 points, eight assists, five rebounds and three steals. Mavericks guard Jalen Brunson contributed 31 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the loss.

The Mavs will attempt to avoid falling into a 3-0 hole in Sunday's Game 3.

Warriors vs. Mavericks results, highlights from Game 2

(All times Eastern)

Final: Warriors 126, Mavericks 117

11:35 p.m. — What a second half from the Warriors. Stephen Curry shuts the door, and Golden State will head to Dallas with a 2-0 series lead.

11:25 p.m. — Draymond Green gets a little too aggressive on the inbound pass and fouls Luka Doncic. He is done for the night, but with the way Kevon Looney has played (21 points, 10 rebounds), the Warriors may be able to survive that loss.

11:20 p.m. — And now Draymond Green is making 3-pointers? Yeah, this one might be over.

11:10 p.m. — Uh oh. The Mavericks are in the danger zone. Jason Kidd takes a timeout to stop the rally.

11:05 p.m. — Otto Porter Jr. from the corner... swish. The Warriors take the lead.

End of third quarter: Mavericks 85, Warriors 83

11 p.m. — Kevon Looney beats the buzzer with a two-handed slam dunk to cut the deficit down to two. The Warriors are right back in this game after dominating the third quarter.

10:45 p.m. — Well, hello Klay Thompson.

10:40 p.m. — That's Draymond Green's fifth foul. He's going to head to the bench. Let's see how the Warriors handle these key minutes without him.

10:35 p.m. — A rough stretch offensively for both teams. The Warriors and Mavericks have missed 13 of their first 17 field goal attempts in the third quarter.

Halftime: Mavericks 72, Warriors 58

10:15 p.m. — Luka Doncic is on fire. He has 24 points in 18 minutes. The Mavericks are heading into the locker room with a 14-point lead.

10:05 p.m. — What a first-half performance from Jalen Brunson. He has 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting. He only scored 14 points in Game 1.

9:55 p.m. — Not a smart play by Stephen Curry. He had no chance of getting a steal in the backcourt, and he is now up to three fouls.

9:50 p.m. — An odd play here. Davis Bertans drains a 3-pointer and falls to the ground. Damion Lee, who contested the shot, tries to hop over Bertans and gets flipped as Bertans stood up. After a review, the officiating crew hands out technical fouls to both players.

9:40 p.m. — The Warriors are called for back-to-back offensive fouls, and Draymond Green is extremely frustrated. He gets hit with a technical foul.

End of first quarter: Mavericks 32, Warriors 25

9:30 p.m. — The Warriors answer with a run of their own. Stephen Curry is heating up. He has 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field.

9:20 p.m. — The Mavericks rattle off a 13-0 run to build a double-digit lead over the Warriors. They have hit five of their first eight 3-point attempts.

9:15 p.m. — Jalen Brunson picks up his second foul early in the first quarter, but Mavericks coach Jason Kidd is going to leave him in the game.

9:10 p.m. — Luka Doncic drains a fadeaway jumper and 3-pointer on the Mavericks' first two possessions. A good start for the three-time All-Star.

9 p.m. — Here are your starting lineups for Game 2:
