Draymond Green could be facing discipline from the Warriors for a reported physical altercation with Jordan Poole during practice Wednesday.

The Athletic's Shams Charania, Anthony Slater and Marcus Thompson II reported that the veteran forward forcefully struck Poole during the altercation.

Green is a four-time NBA champion and a staple of the Warriors' dynasty. Poole, a guard, averaged 18.5 points in 76 games last season in his third year with the Warriors.

The Sporting News has the latest on the situation:

Why the Warriors may discipline Draymond Green

Sources told The Athletic that Green and Poole got into an altercation at practice, with the two players eventually getting chest to chest and then pushing and shoving each other. From there, the situation escalated, with Green striking Poole.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Green punched Poole. Wojnarowski also reported that Poole was not injured and he finished his workout before leaving.

There has been no reporting yet as to what the potential discipline could be, with Wojnarowski noting that the team is reviewing what happened.

According to Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes, Green was apologetic after the incident, while reporting Poole's teammates have seen a change in the guard's behavior as he nears a potential extension with the Warriors.

During his most recent episode of "The Draymond Green Show," Green had said he enjoyed seeing Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry beat Poole and Moses Moody in a team 3-point contest in Japan, specifically adding, "I absolutely loved watching them humble JP."

Thompson, also, had said it was "nice to humble Jordan Poole" after the competition.

The Athletic noted that Green and Poole have often had verbal disagreements, but Wednesday's incident went too far, according to sources.

On Thursday, Warriors general manager Bob Myers told reporters that Green apologized to the team but did not practice. Myers added that the Warriors want to keep the punishment internal.
